Officially dubbed a “masterpiece” of the Korean giant’s computer business, the new series of 14″, 15″ and 16″ laptops from Samsung eschews the usual drabness afflicting laptop exteriors today for a silvery aluminum casing that just screams high-end snobbery.
Despite the flash of its exterior the official specs are straightforward enough. There’s the choice of Intel Core i5 or i7 CPUs depending what size you prefer. The 16″ model goes for Core i5 while Core i7 is what’s running the smaller versions. Further icing on the cake is a dual graphics solution that flits between integrated Intel and its NVIDIA GeForce card.
What we consider a total downer is it’s a little-bit-less than seven hour battery life “under perfect laboratory conditions.” On the flip side of this there’s the “Samsung Fast Start” function that wakes up this laptop from hibernate mode in three seconds flat. Snappy.
