We heard earlier today that the battery problems in the Samsung Galaxy Note 7 had been created by an issue with the manufacturing process for the batteries.
Samsung have not revealed who produced the troublesome batteries for their Galaxy Note 7 handsets, although rumors have suggested that they were made by Samsung’s own battery subsidiary, Samsung SDI.
The other batteries in the Galaxy Note 7 were produced by China’s ATL and according to a recent report by Reuters, Samsung will be switching to ATL as the sole supplier of batteries for the Note 7 going forward.
Samsung have yet to confirm this and whilst ATL have also not confirmed it, they have confirmed that they have received a ‘significant increase’ in business this month.
