Several rumors are circulating all over the internet about the launch and specifications of the purported Samsung Galaxy S5. Actually there’s some confusion and contradictions when it comes to the hardware of the device as well. Earlier rumors mentioned it will come with a 5-inch display sporting 2K resolution, while the device spotted on AnTuTu (rumored to be Galaxy S5) came with 1080p resolution.
According to a new report, Samsung has started mass production of 5.25-inch QHD displays boasting a resolution of 2560 x 1440 for the Samsung Galaxy S5. It has also been revealed that it will come with a pixel density of 560ppi and a LCD version of the handset might exist as well.
We’ve yet to see a leaked image of the purported handset, but it seems Samsung Galaxy S5 is going to be a monster in terms of specifications. Based on rumors, the purported handset is also expected to feature a redesign and come with a metal chassis.
Under the hood, the handset is expected to come with Snapdragon 800/805 or a 64-bit Exynos 6 processor, equipped with 4GB of RAM, 16MP ISOCELL camera and might hit the market in two versions. On the software side, it will come with Android 4.4 KitKat pre-installed out of the box.
For its launch, several rumors predict it will see the daylight by the end of first quarter, possibly February before the Mobile World Congress 2014 kicks off. We’ll find out very soon and will update you as soon as we have more information.
