The Samsung Galaxy S7 Active is designed to be waterproof as is the Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge. Consumer Reports recently ran some tests on the S7 Active.
Unfortunately the S7 Active did not do very well in the Consumer Reports tests and two devices failed the waterproof tests.
Now Samsung has responded to the tests run by consumer report and confirmed that they will replace any device which is not waterproof, you can see their statement below.
The Galaxy S7 active passed rigorous tests to ensure IP68 certification for water resistance.
Samsung stands behind this water resistance certification, and will replace any Galaxy S7 active under its standard limited warranty, should water damage occur.
So at least we know that Samsung will replace your device if it ends up not being waterproof. It is not clear as yet on why the two devices tests by Consumer Reports failed their tests.
