The Samsung Notebook Odyssey was unveiled at CES last week, marking Samsung’s first foray into the gaming notebook market. The company has now revealed that it is launching this highly anticipated device in South Korea.
The new Samsung Notebook Odyssey will cost 1.8 million won for the Core i5 model and 2 million won for the Core i7 version. This pricing positions the Odyssey competitively within the gaming laptop market, offering a range of options for different performance needs and budgets.
Design and Build
The Samsung Notebook Odyssey boasts a sleek and stylish design, tailored specifically for gamers. It features a robust build with a distinctive black and red color scheme that is both eye-catching and functional. The laptop’s keyboard is backlit, providing gamers with the ability to play in low-light conditions without compromising on performance. Additionally, the keyboard includes customizable macro keys, allowing users to set up shortcuts for their most-used commands.
The Odyssey also includes a unique HexaFlow Vent system, which enhances cooling and ensures that the laptop remains at optimal temperatures even during intense gaming sessions. This system is crucial for maintaining performance and preventing thermal throttling, which can be a significant issue in high-performance gaming laptops.
Performance and Features
Under the hood, the Samsung Notebook Odyssey is powered by either an Intel Core i5 or Core i7 processor, depending on the model. These processors are paired with NVIDIA’s GTX 1050 graphics card, providing ample power for running the latest games at high settings. The laptop also comes with up to 32GB of DDR4 RAM and a combination of SSD and HDD storage options, ensuring fast load times and plenty of space for games and other applications.
One of the standout features of the Odyssey is its display. The laptop sports a 15.6-inch Full HD screen with a 1920×1080 resolution, offering vibrant colors and sharp details. The display also supports a wide viewing angle, making it ideal for both solo and multiplayer gaming sessions.
“The Samsung Notebook Odyssey was designed specifically with gamers in mind and is equipped with exclusive features to offer users one of the best gaming notebooks available on the market,” said YoungGyoo Choi, Senior Vice President of the PC Business Team, Mobile Communications Business at Samsung Electronics. “Today, serious and even casual gamers seek computing devices that not only pack power for intense graphics-rich games but also feature a stylish and portable design. We’re excited to expand our PC portfolio with a premium gaming solution featuring refinements in design, cutting-edge technology and enhanced gaming usability.”
In addition to its impressive hardware, the Odyssey includes several software enhancements designed to improve the gaming experience. Samsung’s Gaming Center software allows users to monitor system performance, adjust settings, and optimize their gaming experience with just a few clicks. The laptop also supports Dolby Atmos audio, providing an immersive sound experience that enhances gameplay.
Samsung has yet to reveal the international pricing for the device, but it is expected to be competitive with other high-end gaming laptops on the market. As soon as we get more information on international availability and pricing, we will let you guys know.
The launch of the Samsung Notebook Odyssey marks a significant step for Samsung as it expands its PC portfolio to include gaming solutions. With its combination of powerful hardware, stylish design, and gamer-centric features, the Odyssey is poised to be a strong contender in the gaming laptop market.
