Not long now until the new Samsung Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8 Plus become official, as Samsung is holding a Samsung Unpacked event this Wednesday, the 29th of March.
Now, the Samsung Galaxy S8 and the Samsung Galaxy S8 Plus have been spotted in AnTuTu with a range of specifications.
Processor Variants and Performance
We are expecting two different processor versions of each handset, one with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor and the other with the new Samsung Exynos processor. The Snapdragon 835 is known for its efficiency and performance, making it a popular choice for flagship devices. On the other hand, the Exynos processor, developed by Samsung, is expected to offer similar, if not better, performance metrics, especially in regions where it will be the primary chipset.
Both processors are built on a 10nm process, which means they are more power-efficient and capable of handling more tasks simultaneously without overheating. This is particularly important for users who engage in heavy multitasking or gaming on their smartphones.
Memory, Storage, and Camera Capabilities
All versions of both handsets are said to come with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage. This combination should provide ample space for apps, photos, and videos, as well as smooth performance for everyday tasks. Additionally, the devices are expected to support expandable storage via a microSD card, allowing users to increase their storage capacity as needed.
The camera setup on these devices is also noteworthy. Both the Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus are rumored to feature an 8-megapixel front-facing camera, which should be ideal for selfies and video calls. The dual 12-megapixel rear cameras are expected to offer advanced features such as optical image stabilization, 4K video recording, and improved low-light performance. This dual-camera system is likely to provide users with more versatility in their photography, allowing for better depth-of-field effects and higher-quality images overall.
Additional Features and Expectations
In addition to the core specifications, the Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus are anticipated to come with a range of other features that will enhance the user experience. These may include:
1. Infinity Display: Both models are expected to feature Samsung’s Infinity Display, which offers a near bezel-less design and a larger screen-to-body ratio. This should provide a more immersive viewing experience for media consumption and gaming.
2. Bixby AI Assistant: Samsung’s new AI assistant, Bixby, is likely to be integrated into the Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus. Bixby aims to compete with other virtual assistants like Apple’s Siri and Google Assistant, offering voice commands, contextual understanding, and seamless integration with Samsung’s ecosystem of devices.
3. Enhanced Security: The devices are expected to include advanced security features such as an iris scanner and facial recognition, in addition to the traditional fingerprint sensor. These features will provide users with multiple options for securing their devices and personal data.
4. Battery Life: With the inclusion of more power-efficient processors and optimized software, the Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus are expected to offer improved battery life compared to their predecessors. Fast charging and wireless charging capabilities are also likely to be included.
We will have more details about the new Samsung Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8 Plus when they are made official later this week. Stay tuned for the official announcement and a comprehensive breakdown of all the features and specifications.
