Samsung launched their new Galaxy S5 smartphone back in April, in the company’s recent earnings report, Samsung’s profits were down, and they put this down to lower smartphone sales.
According to a recent report by the WSJ, sales of the new Samsung Galaxy S5 handset were around 40 percent lower than Samsung has expected.
And what is even more interesting, is that Samsung apparently sold 12 million units of the Galaxy S5 in the first three months it was on sale, this is actually lower than sales of the Galaxy S4.
When the Galaxy S4 launches, Samsung sold 16 million units of the device in the first three months after it went on sale, so it looks like Samsung has sold around 4 million units less of the Galaxy S5 than it did with the Galaxy S4.
The company recently launched their new Galaxy Note 4 smartphone, although as yet there are no details on how well this device is doing when compared to its predecessor, lets hope if is more popular than the Galaxy S5.
