Earlier this week, Samsung’s Galaxy Note 4 went on sale in South Korea, where it was apparently sold out. Some early adopters also reported issues with the device, mentioning a gap between the casing and the display. The gap is reportedly big enough to fit a business card or a two A4-sized papers.
It seems Samsung had an idea that this issue will turn up so they’ve mentioned about it in the product manual of the European version of the Galaxy Note 4.
Samsung said in the product manual that it’s a necessary manufacturing feature, not an error. Additionally, they mentioned that the friction between parts may cause the gap to expand over time, which means it may get bigger as time passes by. So, users should stay calm if they see the gap expanding on their devices.
A small gap appears around the outside of the device case
- This gap is a necessary manufacturing feature and some minor rocking or vibration of parts may occur.
- Over time, friction between parts may cause this gap to expand slightly.
What’s surprising is that Samsung Galaxy Alpha follows a similar design pattern as the Galaxy Note 4, but nothing of that sort is present on the device. Well, this new display gap is going to create a lot of buzz on the internet once Galaxy Note 4 is available in more markets.
