When Motorola and Google took the wraps of their highly customizable Moto X, it was announced that the Moto Maker customization is exclusively available on AT&T. However, it seems that things are about to change.
It was rumored earlier that Moto Maker Customization for Moto X is heading to Verizon and will launch on November 11th – thanks to the notorious leaker @evleaks. Additionally, rumors also suggest that the Big Red may not be the only one getting Moto Maker. It seems that Best Buy will also get the Moto Maker customization booths at its retail locations in the coming weeks.
The rumor surfaced from PhoneArena, citing an inside source who said that the Moto Maker Customization booths are heading to Best Buy Stores. Customers who want to purchase the Moto X can just walk in the Best Buy Store, purchase their Moto X and customize it on spot (if they want to) or take a voucher home and customize their device from the Moto Maker website. After placing an order, it might take a few days from the handset to get ready and shipped to your doorsteps.
Unfortunately, the rumor doesn’t give us any exact date of availability at the Best Buy stores. It is also unclear if the Best Buy Moto Maker customization will be limited to AT&T or other carriers too. But, rumors do suggest that it’s coming to Verizon on November 11th.
If it’s true, we should see an official announcement in the coming weeks from either Best Buy or the folks at Motorola. We’ll update you as soon we get any information.
