Routakit M Desktop CNC Machine Hits Kickstarter

Routakit M Desktop CNC Machine

Makers, developers and hobbyists searching for a desktop CNC machine may be interested in a new piece of kit which has been created by Louis Vissepo called the Routakit M. The Routakit M builds on previous Kickstarter campaigns and designs and is the latest CNC cutter marks the launch of the company’s new CNC range offering high levels of cutting power combined with extreme precision. Watch the demonstration video below to learn more about the CNC cutter which is launched via Kickstarter this week with the aim of raising $20,000 over the next 30 days to make the jump into manufacture.

Specifications of the CNC cutter include:

Dimensions: 380 x 400 x 530 mm / 15 x 15.75 x 20.85 in (Measured from base)
Travel: ~200 x 150 x 100 mm   /  8 x 6 x 4 in
Rapids: 4000mm/min (160in/min)- Direct Drive, 1800mm/min (70 in/min- Pulley Reduction Drive
Step Resolution: ~0.0003mm/.00001in (With Pulley Reduction Drive)
Repeatability: ~.003mm/.0001in (With Pulley Reduction Drive)
Drive System: Custom Machined Ball Screw
Stepper Motor: Nema 23 175oz/in (x3)
Plate Material: 6061-T6 Aluminum
Rail Material: 6061-T6 Aluminum
Spindle: 600w, ER11 Collet, 6k to 13k working RPM

The new Routakit M series has all the perks of a larger cnc in a fraction of the size. It stands a little under 2 feet height and is an easy fit for smaller work stations. The Routakit M series comes in two models, the M and the M Pro. The M is the standard model offering 8×6 inches of cutting area with a 600w spindle, while the M Pro offers a greater cutting area of 12×8 inches, an upgraded 1.5kw spindle, and an optional rotary axis for making 3D parts. Whether you’re new to CNC machines or you already own one, we are confident that our new Routakit M series will take your projects to the next level.
