Adafruit has this week announced the arrival of the new Raspberry Pi Zero accessory in the form of the OLED Bonnet Pack, which is now available to purchase directly from the online Adafruit store priced at $34.95.
The OLED Bonnet offers a 128 x 64 pixel display offering a larger screen than the mini PiOLED add-on, and also includes a 5-way joystick and two pushbuttons.
These displays are small, only about 1.3″ diagonal, but very readable due to the high contrast of an OLED display. This screen is made of 128×64 individual white OLED pixels and because the display makes its own light, no backlight is required. This reduces the power required to run the OLED and is why the display has such high contrast; we really like this miniature display for its crispness!
Raspberry Pi Zero OLED Bonnet Pack contents include :
– Raspberry Pi Zero W – the type of low-cost game-changing product Raspberry Pi’s known for – the super light, super lean microcomputer we’ve come to know and low, but now with built-in WiFi
– Adafruit 128×64 OLED Bonnet for Raspberry Pi – 128×64 individual white OLED pixels jam-packed into this miniature pi display – even includes a little 5-way joystick and two pushbuttons. Fully assembled – no soldering at all is required for this item
– Adafruit Pi Zero Enclosure – Adafruit’s classic, sturdy plastic enclosure. Keeps your Pi Zero safe and you can plug the Bonnet on top
– Break-away 0.1″ 2×20-pin Strip Dual Male Header – Solder this to your Pi Zero so you can plug in the Bonnet
