If you’re the sort that tends to lose things, a project has turned up on Indiegogo that you might be interested in. The project is for a thin card called the Protag Elite claiming to be the most comprehensive lost and found system in all the land. The card is small enough to be slipped into your wallet, briefcase, backpack, or other object and works with Android or iOS devices.
The card itself is designed to be recharged using a built-in USB port. The card can send alerts to your mobile device if you leave your tag device behind. In addition to alerts, the device offers tracking features for valuables and mobile phones via a connected Protag Trace account.
The tag uses Bluetooth 4.0 and has a CSR 1000 chip inside. Each tag can be paired with up to 10 devices. The internal battery for the tag is a 150 mAh lithium polymer battery good for up to one year of use per charge. The wireless range the tag is up to 100 feet and the tag measures 84 mm x 53 mm x 3 mm and weighing 18 g. Adopters can pay $29 while the project is on indiegogo with estimated delivery in October.
