“Populous was created over 22 years ago, and we believe that to date, nothing has come close to emulating its powerfully godlike experience. It’s this experience we aim to reimagine. GODUS blends the power, growth, and scope of Populous with the detailed construction and multiplayer excitement of Dungeon Keeper and the intuitive interface and technical innovation of Black & White. The original Populous hailed from the 8-bit era but GODUS will use the most modern technology the world has to offer.”
The Vision Behind Godus
Godus is not just a game; it is an ambitious project that aims to redefine the god game genre. The development team at 22cans, led by the legendary game designer Peter Molyneux, is striving to create a game that offers players an unparalleled godlike experience. The game draws inspiration from Molyneux’s earlier works, such as Populous, Dungeon Keeper, and Black & White, combining their best elements to create something truly unique.
In Godus, players will have the power to shape and mold the world as they see fit. This includes terraforming landscapes, creating rivers and mountains, and even influencing the growth of civilizations. The game promises a dynamic and interactive environment where every action has consequences, making each playthrough a unique experience.
Gameplay and Features
One of the standout features of Godus is its multiplayer mode, which allows players to interact with each other in a shared world. This adds a layer of complexity and excitement, as players can choose to cooperate or compete with one another. The game also boasts a detailed construction system, enabling players to build and customize their own settlements.
The intuitive interface of Godus ensures that players can easily navigate and control their godly powers. The game leverages modern technology to provide a seamless and immersive experience, with stunning graphics and smooth gameplay. The development team has also emphasized the importance of community feedback, regularly engaging with backers and incorporating their suggestions into the game.
