This week Pinterest has announced the availability of their new Pinterest developer sandbox which has been created to enable developers to easily test and develop applications that are linked to the Pinterest service.
Pinterest has also made available a number of APIs and a sample application that provides examples of what you can do with the new scripts to enhance your already existing Android, iOS or JavaScript applications or new projects currently in development.
Pinterest explains a little more over on their engineering developer blog :
Our developer sandbox is now open, which means you can access the Pinterest API to start building apps and integrations with Pinterest. When you’re ready to publicly launch your app, you’ll need to submit it for a quick review.
Once you’ve read and agreed to our terms and policies, you’ll be able to add a select number of testers and collaborators to help you build your app. After someone authenticates, you’ll get access to their Pins, boards, profiles and follows. If you have the ID of the object, you can retrieve its information—otherwise, you can fetch info for authenticated users. Our API is easy to use, especially when you use one of our client SDKs for Android, iOS or Javascript.
