There are plenty of flavors of Mountain Dew on the market today aside from the original flavor with the green tinge. As many snack and drink companies do, PepsiCo is constantly testing new flavors of drinks and at times, they take feedback from consumers on what flavors should come to market. This is exactly what has been happening at some colleges and universities around the country with a few new flavors of Mountain Dew.
The taste tests that happened recently had some flavors that sound good like lemon-ginger and rainbow sherbet. The strangest flavor in the taste test was called Dewito. It’s a flavor based on the nacho-cheese taste of Doritos chips. That sounds gross to me, but one person who tasted it said it wasn’t “that disgusting.”
I’m not sure that was a good comment. Take a mouthful of Doritos and wash it down with a gulp of Mountain Dew and you probably have a good idea of what Dewito tastes like. There is no word on if the flavor will make it to market. I could see it working as a novelty, but as a favorite drink, I don’t see that happening.
