Developers and Raspberry Pi enthusiasts may be interested in a new e-paper display board in the form of the aptly named Papyr. The Papyr is a Nordic nRF52840 e- paper display that supports both BLE (BLE5, BLE Mesh) and 802.15.4 (Thread, Zigbee) allowing it to be used for a wide variety of different projects and applications.
The small e-paper display board is accompanied by its own Android application that allows users to draw a shape selected image and send it directly to the display, allowing for easy interactivity on your next project. Papyr Has been created by the development team at Electronut labs and is now available to purchase priced at $48.
“Papyr combines a low power wireless technology – BLE with a low power display system – e-paper display . By choosing the Nordic nRF52840 SoC, Papyr is able to support not only BLE but mesh networking protocols like Thread, BLE Mesh, and Zigbee. Papyr has many extras too – like build in NFC antenna for BLE pairing or Thread commisioning, CR2477 battery holder, micro USB port, extra GPIOs, RGB LED, etc.”
