Pantech Element tablet was recently announced back at CES earlier this month, and now this new Android tablet is now available with US mobile carrier AT&T.
The Pantech Element is available for $299.99 when you sign up to a new two-year data contract with AT&T, and the device comes with Android 3.2 Honeycomb.
Specifications and Features
Other specifications on the Pantech Element include an 8-inch multi-touch touchscreen display. The display features a resolution of 1024 x 768 pixels, which provides a decent visual experience for browsing, gaming, and watching videos. The device is powered by a dual-core 1.5GHz processor, ensuring smooth performance for most applications and multitasking needs.
The Pantech Element also comes with 16GB of built-in storage, which should be sufficient for storing a variety of apps, photos, and videos. However, if you need more space, the device features a microSD card slot that supports up to 32GB microSD cards, allowing for additional storage flexibility.
Camera and Multimedia Capabilities
The tablet is equipped with two cameras: a 2-megapixel front-facing camera for video chats and selfies, and a 5-megapixel rear camera for capturing photos and recording videos. The rear camera is capable of recording full HD video in 1080p, making it a versatile tool for capturing high-quality video content. This makes the Pantech Element a good option for users who enjoy video calling and multimedia creation.
One of the standout features of the Pantech Element is its durability. The device is designed to be waterproof and splashproof, with an IP57 certification. This means it can withstand immersion in water up to 1 meter for 30 minutes, making it an ideal choice for users who need a rugged tablet for outdoor activities or environments where water exposure is a concern.
The tablet also includes other useful features such as Bluetooth and Wi-Fi connectivity, ensuring you can stay connected whether you’re at home, in the office, or on the go. Additionally, the device supports 4G LTE, providing fast internet speeds for streaming, downloading, and browsing.
Usability and Design
The Pantech Element’s design is both functional and stylish. Its 8-inch size strikes a balance between portability and screen real estate, making it comfortable to hold and use for extended periods. The multi-touch display is responsive and supports various gestures, enhancing the overall user experience.
The tablet runs on Android 3.2 Honeycomb, which, while not the latest version of Android, still offers a user-friendly interface and access to a wide range of apps through the Google Play Store. Users can customize their home screens with widgets and shortcuts, making it easy to access frequently used apps and information.
In terms of battery life, the Pantech Element is equipped with a robust battery that provides several hours of usage on a single charge. This ensures that you can use the tablet throughout the day without constantly needing to recharge.
Overall, the Pantech Element is a well-rounded Android tablet that offers a good mix of performance, durability, and features. Its waterproof design, decent camera capabilities, and expandable storage make it a versatile device suitable for a variety of users, from outdoor enthusiasts to multimedia creators.
