VCXO has created a new mechanical watch called the Ox One which is fitted with a special button that allow it to seamlessly synchronise its time using the Global Positioning System or GPS Time Synchronisation
The new Ox One mechanical watch is priced at $41,000 for the first production units and the design has been created by Adrian Pedrozo. Watch the video after the jump to learn more about the Ox One watch and see its unique GPS Time Synchronisation function in action.
The new GPS time synchronisation technology is still under wraps at the current time and its design is not revealing any secrets on how it works. However the mechanical part of the watch takes the form of a TT-738 from Swiss Technotime SA. Its creator explains :
“The idea is to have an automatic mechanic watch that has technology (such as GPS) which takes control, on demand, to help it set the time. We call this new category: Mechanical assisted watches.
Now the beauty of it, is that the watch sets itself in an entertaining way because so much stuff moves on the dial when you push the Magic Button.”
