Apple has released OS X 10.11.4 Beta 5 to developers and also to their beta testing program. In order to try out the software, you either need to be a registered developer or enrolled in the Apple beta test program.
OS X 10.11.4 Beta 5 comes a week after the last beta and brings a range of new features to Apple’s Mac range of computers.
New Features in OS X 10.11.4 Beta 5
Some of the new features included in OS X 10.11.4 Beta 5 are the ability to share Live Photos that have been recorded with the iPhone 6S and 6S Plus. This feature allows users to share their dynamic photos seamlessly across different Apple devices, enhancing the integration between iOS and OS X.
In addition to Live Photos, OS X 10.11.4 Beta 5 also includes improvements to the Notes app. Users can now password-protect individual notes, providing an extra layer of security for sensitive information. This feature is particularly useful for those who use the Notes app for storing personal or confidential data.
The update also brings enhancements to iBooks, allowing users to store PDFs in iCloud, making them accessible across all their Apple devices. This means that any PDF saved on a Mac can be viewed on an iPhone or iPad, ensuring that important documents are always within reach.
Performance and Stability Improvements
Beyond new features, OS X 10.11.4 Beta 5 focuses on performance and stability improvements. Apple has worked on optimizing the system to ensure smoother operation and better resource management. This includes bug fixes that address issues reported by users in previous versions, such as problems with Wi-Fi connectivity and system crashes.
The update also includes security patches that protect against vulnerabilities, ensuring that users’ data remains safe from potential threats. These improvements are part of Apple’s ongoing commitment to providing a secure and reliable operating system for its users.
We are expecting Apple to release OS X 10.11.4 later this month along with iOS 9.3. Both updates should land around the same time as the new iPhone SE and 9.7 inch iPad Pro. The simultaneous release of these updates and new devices highlights Apple’s strategy of creating a cohesive ecosystem where hardware and software work seamlessly together.
As soon as we get some more details on the exact release date, we will let you guys know.
