Oracle has announced that they have hired former HP CEO Mark Hurd, his new role will be as co-president alongside Safra Catz. Hurd will replace the previous co-president Charlelips who recently resigned.
Mark Hurd resigned from HP last month after a probe into sexual harrasement allegations, he will sit on the board of Directors at Oracle and share his duties alongside Safra Cruz.
Mark Hurd is a personal friend of Oracle’s CEO Larry Ellison, who has been one of Hurd’s biggest supporters in recent months.
“Mark did a brilliant job at HP and I expect he’ll do even better at Oracle,” Ellison said. “There is no executive in the IT world with more relevant experience than Mark. Oracle’s future is engineering complete and integrated hardware and software systems for the enterprise.”
