If you are looking for high quality sound capture combined with 1080p HD video then the new Olympus LS-20M camcorder might be worth a look. The Olympus LS-20M has just been unviled by Olympus and promises to ‘Capture Sights and Sounds Like Never Before’.
Its equipped with a Linear PCM (Linear pulse-code modulation) recorder providing the capture of high quality 24 bit/96 hHz Linear PCM stereo sound. Linear PCM recordings are uncompressed and authentic audio, regarded by many pro’s as being the only proper way to capture sound.
Other features on the LS-20M include the ability to set a voice-activation mode that will automatically start recording when a certain level of sound is reached. There is also a self-timer mode which will start after a predetermined amount of time, ideal for recording without having to operate the recorder.
The feature packed Olympus LS-20M only measures 5.3-inches in length and weighs in at just 5.4 oz and will be arriving in retail stores this June for around $300.
