Following on from yesterdays announcement that Valve’s Team Fortress 2 (TF2) game would be supporting the new virtual reality Oculus Rift gaming headset.
Valve has released more information on how the setup and connection will work within the Oculus Rift TF2 virtual reality mode, and has now published a Oculus Rift TF2 user guide, for users.
If you are lucky enough to already own an Oculus Rift development kit or have pre-order one for $300 and are waiting for it to arrive, the users guide provides everything you need to know to enjoy the Oculus Rift TF2 experience. However Valve explains:
“VR is awesome and immersive, but it can’t fool all your senses all the time. This can lead to something very similar to seasickness or motion sickness, which can lead to nausea, sweating or headaches. Start with some of the slower characters, such as Heavy or Medic. Avoid the faster or close-range characters such as Scout, Pyro, or rocket-jumping with the Soldier – they can produce particularly intense experiences in VR.”
Watch the video below to learn more about the new Oculus Rift TF2 virtual reality headset and how it is looking to change the world of computer gaming forever. Unfortunately no information on pricing or worldwide availability has been released as yet for a consumer Oculus Rift TF2 version, but as soon as information comes to light we will keep you updated as always.
