Earlier today, we spotted a prototype of Nokia Normandy with protective case on it to hide the design, and show the main screen with Nokia logo and a back button.
Well, if it wasn’t enough to convince you about its existence, it is time you take a look at another image that was spotted on Weibo, the Chinese Twitter alternative.
The leaked image from Weibo shows the handset without its protective covering, as well as a glimpse of the UI of the software running on top of it. And, yes, it’s running some weird version of Android, and shows dual-SIM support. The device below looks quite similar to the press render above, as well as all the leaked images we’ve seen.
It appears to be an entry-level handset, targeted towards emerging markets where dual-SIM support is a norm. Well, before we start making assumptions about its targeted market, there’s another big factor in between, Microsoft. The Redmond giant is expected to takeover the devices and services division of the company, and if Nokia Normandy is real, we doubt Microsoft will support it, even if its a low-end handset.
What do you think? I guess we’ll have to wait for sometime and see if it’s really true.
