Nokia’s N900 smartphone features a 600MHz ARM Cortex A8 processor, the same one that is in the iPhone 3GS and the Palm Pre, although 600MHz wasn’t fast enough for Maemo forum member Lehto who managed to overclock the N900 processor from 600MHz to 1GHz.
Although we wouldn’t recommend trying this at home as it could seriously impair the battery life of your N900 and may also damage it, you can find out more details of how it was done over at Maemo.org.
