We previously heard that the Nokia Lumia 900 would be available from US mobile carrier AT&T from the 18th of March, it now looks like the launch may be delayed slightly and the device will now land on AT&T on the 22nd of April.
It looks like the pricing we previously reported will be the same with the Lumia 900 retailing for $99 when you sign up to a new two-year contract with the carrier.
The Nokia Lumia 900 features a 4.3 inch AMOLED ClearBlack touchscreen display with a resolution of 800 x 480 pixels, plus the latest version of Microsoft’s mobile OS, Windows Phone 7.5 Mango.
Performance and Camera Capabilities
Processing is provided by a single-core 1.4GHz processor, which, while not dual-core like some of its competitors, still offers a smooth and responsive user experience for everyday tasks and applications. The Lumia 900 is equipped with a rear-facing 8-megapixel camera featuring an f2.2 Carl Zeiss lens. This high-quality lens ensures that photos are sharp and vibrant, even in low-light conditions. The rear camera is also capable of recording HD video in 720p, making it a versatile tool for capturing both still images and video content.
Up front, the device sports a 1-megapixel camera with an f2.4 lens. While this may seem modest by today’s standards, it is more than adequate for video calls and selfies. The Lumia 900 also comes with 16GB of built-in storage, which should be sufficient for most users to store their photos, videos, and apps. However, it’s worth noting that the device does not support expandable storage via microSD cards, so users will need to manage their storage space accordingly.
Connectivity and Additional Features
One of the standout features of the Nokia Lumia 900 is its support for 4G LTE connectivity. This ensures that users can enjoy fast internet speeds for browsing, streaming, and downloading content. In addition to LTE, the device also supports WiFi, allowing users to connect to wireless networks at home, work, or public hotspots.
The Lumia 900 runs on Windows Phone 7.5 Mango, which offers a unique and user-friendly interface. The OS features live tiles on the home screen, providing real-time updates and notifications from apps and services. This makes it easy for users to stay informed and connected without having to open individual apps.
Another notable feature of the Lumia 900 is its design. The device boasts a sleek and modern look, with a unibody polycarbonate shell that is both durable and stylish. The 4.3-inch display is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass, adding an extra layer of durability against scratches and minor impacts.
In terms of battery life, the Lumia 900 is equipped with a 1830mAh battery, which should provide enough power to get through a full day of moderate use. This includes activities such as browsing the web, checking emails, and using social media apps.
Overall, the Nokia Lumia 900 offers a compelling package for those looking for a reliable and stylish smartphone with solid performance and excellent camera capabilities. Its support for 4G LTE and the unique Windows Phone 7.5 Mango OS make it a standout choice in the crowded smartphone market.
