Hot on the heels of rumors claiming a new Wii console is on the horizon and apparently one that is “significantly more powerful than the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360” to boot according to IGN, ubiquitous industry analyst Michael Pachter claims it’s coming too late.
Too late for what, exactly? For the motion revolution apparently, which would have actually meant something if the motion revolution hadn’t come and gone leaving Nintendo as the undisputed victor.
The only other tidbit we’ve heard at the moment is that Nintendo’s new machine will be backwards compatible with the Wii, which shouldn’t be that difficult for a toaster to manage these days. Well, that and the fact that it’s going to have some serious HD capabilities, but nobody’s going to be shocked to death by that either.
People have been waiting for some proper HD goodness from Nintendo for five years now, we’re guessing Nintendo could come out with this thing the day before our sun becomes a red dwarf and people would still camp out for it.
