Gamevice previously known as WikiPad the creators and designers of a variety of different detachable controllers for mobile devices, has started legal proceedings against Nintendo saying that the Nintendo Switch console design infringes on an existing patent they own.
Gamevice has manufactured detachable controllers for both smartphones and tablets including Apple’s iPad, iPhone’s as well as Android tablets and smartphones such as the Samsung’s Galaxy range with devices first launch as far back as 2013 for 7 inch Android tablets.
Gamevice is suing for damages for the “irreparable injury” caused to its business by Nintendo violating its patent, and the company is asking a court to block Nintendo from “making, using, selling, and offering for sale the Nintendo Switch:. This is sure to be an interesting court case and will keep you up-to-date as it progresses.
