Xiaomi has unveiled two new additions to their range of Mi Box media streaming hardware this week in the form of the Mi Box 3c and Mi Box 3s, both of which support 4K Ultra HD.
The Mi Box 3c is priced at roughly $29 or 199 yuan and is equipped with an Amlogic S905 processor supported by 1GB of RAM together with 4GB of storage. Priced at 299 yuan or $43 the Mi Box 3s is equipped with a Amlogic S905X processor supported by 2GB of RAM combined with 8GB of storage.
The new media streaming set-top boxes support 802.11ac WiFi, Bluetooth 4.1 and HDMI 2.0, AV are are equipped with USB 2.0 ports and are supplied with a new remote control and updated AI software.
Unfortunately outside of China the AI software may not be able to provide all the features and functionalities as it would in its home country. But Xiaomi does have a version of the Mi Box complete with android TV software specifically designed for use in the US. Both models support 4K output, but only the 3s model supports HDR content.
