Nokia is expected to return to the smartphone business shortly, the company previously sold its mobile phone business to Microsoft and was not able to release any new devices as part of this agreement.
The agreement between Microsoft and Nokia has now expired and we are going to be seeing some new Nokia Android smartphones next year.
Nokia wont be making the handsets itself, instead it has teamed up with Foxconn who will be their manufacturing partner.
Nokia has also teamed up with HMD Global who will be responsible for marketing and selling these new Android devices from Nokia.
HMD Global will be making an appearance at Mobile World Congress 2017 in February, so it looks like we will see the first Nokia Android smartphones at this event.
It will be interesting to see what the company comes up with and whether these new devices will be as popular as some of the company’s older devices.
