The Nokia 9 is a flagship Android smartphone that we heard about recently and now it looks like the handset will launch in quarter three of 2017.
According to a recent report, the Nokia 9 will retail for about $699 in the US and it will cost around €749 in Europe.
Display and Performance
As we heard previously, the handset will come with a 5.5 inch display with a QHD resolution of 2560 x 1440 pixels. This high-resolution display ensures that users will enjoy crisp and vibrant visuals, making it ideal for media consumption, gaming, and productivity tasks. The display is expected to use AMOLED technology, which is known for its deep blacks and high contrast ratios.
The Nokia 9 will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor. This chipset was one of the most powerful processors available at the time, offering excellent performance and efficiency. The Snapdragon 835 is built on a 10nm process, which means it is more power-efficient and generates less heat compared to older processors. This should translate to better battery life and smoother performance for the end user.
Memory, Storage, and Camera
Other rumored specifications include 6GB of RAM and 64GB or 128GB of storage. The ample RAM will ensure that the device can handle multitasking with ease, allowing users to switch between apps without any noticeable lag. The storage options provide flexibility for users with different needs, and there will also be a microSD card slot for extra storage, supporting cards up to 256GB. This means users can store a large number of photos, videos, and apps without worrying about running out of space.
The handset will come with dual 22 megapixel cameras on the back and a single 12 megapixel camera on the front. The rear cameras will have a Carl Zeiss lens, which is known for its high-quality optics. The dual-camera setup is expected to offer features such as optical zoom, portrait mode, and improved low-light performance. The front-facing 12 megapixel camera will be ideal for selfies and video calls, ensuring clear and detailed images.
The handset is also rumored to come with Nokia’s OZO audio technology. This advanced audio technology is designed to capture 3D spatial sound, providing an immersive audio experience for video recordings. This feature will be particularly useful for content creators and vloggers who want to deliver high-quality audio in their videos.
The Nokia 9 will be equipped with a 3800 mAh battery, which should provide ample power to get through a full day of use. The device is also expected to support fast charging, allowing users to quickly top up the battery when needed. Additionally, the handset will come with Android 7.1.2 out of the box, offering a clean and smooth user experience with access to the latest features and security updates.
The Nokia 9 will also have an IP68 rating, meaning it will be dust and water-resistant. This makes the device more durable and suitable for use in various environments, whether it’s a rainy day or a dusty outdoor setting.
The Nokia 9 is shaping up to be a powerful and feature-rich flagship smartphone. With its high-resolution display, powerful processor, ample memory and storage, advanced camera system, and robust build quality, it is poised to compete with other high-end smartphones in the market. The inclusion of Nokia’s OZO audio technology and the IP68 rating further enhance its appeal, making it a well-rounded device for a wide range of users.
