Earlier today we saw the new Mercedes-AMG GLE 53 Coupe, Mercedes Benz also revealed a standard version of the car, the Mercedes GLE Coupe.
The Mercedes GLE Coupe will be available with a range of different engine choices, these will include a 350 d and a 400 d.
The new GLE Coupé is a further example of the Mercedes-Benz strategy to address all the requirements of customers in the premium-SUV segment in a targeted manner. From a relatively small niche, the segment of SUCs, namely SUV coupés, has developed into a trend within a trend in no time. With the renewal of the premium-SUV family Mercedes-Benz is also putting the GLE Coupé on a new technical footing.
“The GLE Coupé blends the imposing power of an off-road vehicle with the emotively appealing sportiness and elegance of a coupé”, says Gorden Wagener, Chief Design Officer of Daimler AG. “The sensuous, reduced design idiom in combination with the extreme proportions creates a unique design statement.”
Engine Options and Performance
The Mercedes GLE Coupe offers a variety of engine options to cater to different driving preferences and needs. The 350 d variant is powered by a 3.0-liter inline-six turbo-diesel engine, delivering 272 horsepower and 600 Nm of torque. This engine is designed for those who prioritize fuel efficiency without compromising on power. On the other hand, the 400 d variant features a more powerful 3.0-liter inline-six turbo-diesel engine, producing 330 horsepower and 700 Nm of torque. This option is ideal for drivers seeking a more dynamic and robust driving experience.
Both engine variants come with a 9G-TRONIC automatic transmission, ensuring smooth and responsive gear shifts. Additionally, the GLE Coupe is equipped with the 4MATIC all-wheel-drive system, providing excellent traction and stability across various driving conditions.
Design and Interior Features
The exterior design of the Mercedes GLE Coupe is a perfect blend of ruggedness and elegance. The front fascia features a prominent grille with the iconic Mercedes-Benz star, flanked by sleek LED headlights. The coupe-like roofline adds a touch of sportiness, while the muscular wheel arches and large alloy wheels emphasize its off-road capabilities.
Inside, the GLE Coupe offers a luxurious and tech-savvy cabin. High-quality materials, such as leather upholstery and wood trim, create a premium feel. The dashboard is dominated by a dual-screen setup, comprising a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and a 12.3-inch infotainment display. The MBUX (Mercedes-Benz User Experience) system provides intuitive control over various functions, including navigation, media, and vehicle settings.
Passengers can enjoy a spacious and comfortable ride, thanks to the ample legroom and headroom in both the front and rear seats. The rear seats can be folded down to expand the cargo space, making the GLE Coupe versatile enough for both daily commutes and long road trips.
Advanced Safety and Driver Assistance
Safety is a top priority for Mercedes-Benz, and the GLE Coupe is no exception. The vehicle is equipped with a comprehensive suite of advanced safety and driver assistance features. These include Active Brake Assist, which can automatically apply the brakes to prevent a collision, and Blind Spot Assist, which alerts the driver to vehicles in their blind spots.
Other notable features include Adaptive Cruise Control, Lane Keeping Assist, and a 360-degree camera system, providing a clear view of the vehicle’s surroundings. These technologies work together to enhance the overall driving experience, ensuring both safety and convenience.
