Details of a new building set to arrive on the Third Street Promenade in Santa Monica, California have been discovered that look suspiciously like a new Apple retail store. The new proposal for a 8,084 square foot commercial building, to replace the existing three story Borders Bookstore has been filed at the Santa Monica Planning Commission.
Even though the new application is listed as “Howard Robinson” and the property owner as ASB/Blatteis Promenade Holdings, LLC the architect drawings give the game away a little.
The proposal also indicates that the applicant will also implement a transportation program for it employees to travel to and from the store using alternative modes of transportation. With full-time employees receiving a $100 monthly transit subsidy and a $20/month bicycle reimbursement subsidy as well as bicycle parking in the basement level.
