Ford has announced the launch of its new Ford Puma crossover, a vehicle that has been inspired by the SUV segment. This new model comes equipped with a mild hybrid system that includes a 1.0-litre EcoBoost petrol engine paired with Ford’s EcoBoost Hybrid 48-volt technology. This combination aims to deliver both efficiency and performance, making it a versatile choice for a wide range of drivers.
The car comes with Ford’s latest technology and boasts a luggage capacity of 456 litres, making it highly practical for everyday use. Additionally, it features adaptive cruise control, which enhances driving comfort and safety by automatically adjusting the vehicle’s speed to maintain a safe distance from the car ahead.
Advanced Features and Technology
The Ford Puma is packed with advanced features designed to enhance the driving experience. One of the standout features is the inclusion of massage seats, which provide added comfort on long journeys. This feature is particularly beneficial for those who spend a lot of time on the road, as it helps reduce fatigue and improve overall well-being.
Another notable feature is the Ford Co-Pilot360, a suite of driver-assist technologies that includes lane-keeping assist, pre-collision assist with automatic emergency braking, and a rearview camera. These technologies work together to provide a safer driving experience, helping to prevent accidents and making it easier to navigate challenging driving conditions.
“Our customers told us they want a compact vehicle with stand-out looks that also delivers solutions for everyday living. The result is our new Ford Puma – charismatic, practical and offering technologies from massage seats to mild-hybrid powertrains,” said Stuart Rowley, president, Ford of Europe.
Expanding Ford’s SUV Line-Up
The new Puma joins Ford’s expanding line-up of SUV and SUV-inspired crossover models in Europe, which includes the Fiesta Active, Focus Active, EcoSport, Kuga, Edge, and the all-new Explorer Plug-In Hybrid. This expansion reflects the growing popularity of SUVs in the European market, where SUVs now account for more than one in five Ford vehicles sold. In fact, sales of Ford SUVs rose more than 19 percent in 2018, highlighting the increasing demand for these versatile and practical vehicles.
The Ford Puma is designed to appeal to a broad audience, from young professionals looking for a stylish and efficient vehicle to families in need of a practical and spacious car. Its combination of advanced technology, hybrid efficiency, and modern design makes it a compelling choice in the competitive crossover market.
“The new Puma represents the next chapter in Ford’s SUV story, offering a unique blend of style, practicality, and advanced technology,” added Rowley. “We are confident that it will resonate with customers and continue to drive the success of our SUV line-up in Europe.”
