The actor who played Chewbacca in the original Star Wars film series, Peter Mayhew, posted a bunch of behind-the-scenes pictures from the Star Wars films on twitter. The pictures include everything from Mayhew lounging on set to Carrie Fisher and her stunt double in their princess costumes to an early version of C3PO’s costume. You can check out the entire collection of pictures here.
I don’t know why Mayhew decided to post these pictures all of a sudden, but Star Wars fans from all over the world can’t seem to get enough of the original film’s behind-the-scenes footage – even if they’re stills. The pictures are pretty interesting even if you’re not an avid Star Wars fan. It’s interesting to see how older films were shot before everything was computer generated.
Does anyone else watch and old movie and wonder how they pulled some of the effects off as well as they did without computers? I think films that make as little use of computer graphics as possible tend to look better than those that practically make the entire movie out of CG. Let me know in the comments below if you agree or disagree and why.
