Amazon only announced the third generation Kindle last week, and started selling it, now it seems that this new lower priced Kindle has been extremely popular as it is now sold out until September.
Both the WiFi and 3G models of the new Amazon Kindle are now ‘temporarily sold out’ and it seems that new orders may not ship until the 4th of September 2010.
The new Amazon Kindle is cheaper than the previous version, this has probably had a fair bit to do with the high demand since it went on sale.

There are two models available, a WiFi only model retails for $139 and a 3G model which retails for $189. The new Amazon Kindle is thinner and lighter than the previous model, 21 percent smaller and 15 percent lighter. Despite the reduction in size and weight, it still comes with a 6-inch display which is reported to feature 50 percent better contrast.
