If you own a 4K resolution TV, one of the few places where you could get content to watch on the TV in full 4K resolution was Netflix. Netflix has a smattering of 4K content such as House of Cards and Breaking Bad that has been included in the cost of a normal streaming plan for those with the hardware to watch. That is now all changing.
Netflix has reportedly begun to roll out a price increase for those streaming 4k resolution content. New customers wanting 4K streaming will have to pay another £3 on top of the normal £5.99 per month streaming plan in the UK. Before people get upset about having to cough up more money for something they already get, keep in mind the price increase is only for new customers.
That means any one who has been streaming 4k at the £5.99 monthly rate will continue to get the same price and content. If you haven’t noticed, Netflix has added one new show to the 4K mix, The Blacklist is available on 4K now as well. To keep 4K streaming for the same monthly fee, you have to have used the service before August 12.
