NEC has pulled the wraps off a new display with a strange size that is aimed at digital signage. The display is made to fit into areas where a normal LCD won’t fit. The new screen is called the X431BT.
The screen has a resolution of 1920 x 480 and a 3000:1 contrast ratio. The typical brightness is listed at 500 cd/m2. The screen can be used in either landscape or portrait modes and it needs 105W in normal use and under 1W when in standby.
The screen supports TileMatrix, which lets it be used in a video wall of up to 10 x 10 units. Connectivity options include DisplayPort, HDMI, and DVI-D. The screen will sell for $3799.
