There are already a number of notebooks on the market that support 3D gaming and films. Many of those notebooks use the NVIDIA 3D Vision system, which uses active glasses. There are some systems on the market that use cheaper passive glasses though.
MSI is said to be getting a 3D notebook ready for launch in mid-September that will support 3D with passive glasses. The machine is said to be targeting a price below $934. The machine will have an Intel integrated GPU with TriDef 3D software for 3D content.
The machine will reportedly be made directly by MSI. The passive glasses will make the machine less expensive than machines with active glasses and will make it easier to get extra glasses for more users to view 3D at once. Presumably, you could even use those glasses you didn’t recycle at the theater.
