Motorola released a number of handsets lately including the highly anticipated Moto X along with Droid Maxx, Mini and Ultra. Recently, an XDA-Developers Forum member Justin Case released a tool – MotoRoot – that can be used to root Moto X, Droid Mini, Droid Ultra and Droid Maxx. It is also recommended not to use this tool on any other Android device that isn’t Motorola. These are only for Moto X and the Droid lineup, and may cause problems if you use it on any other device.
All the download links and instructions can be found at on XDA-Developers forum link given at the end of the post. The folks at AndroidPolice also posted a guide on how to root your Motorola device using Justin’s tool. Make sure you download the correct application that is for your device.
Warning: We will not be responsible for any harm or damage to your device by following the guide, so make sure you proceed at your own risk. Also note that rooting your device may void your warranty.
The rooting process is very simple. All you need to do is install the application for your smartphone from Google Play Store, run it, reboot and you will have a fully rooted device. You can then download SuperSU from the Google Play store and you are done. The application also include an unroot method as well.
