Enhanced Camera Capabilities
The dual 13-megapixel rear cameras on the Moto G5S Plus are designed to provide users with a versatile photography experience. These cameras support features such as selective focus, which allows you to blur the background or foreground of an image to create a bokeh effect. This is particularly useful for portrait photography, where you want the subject to stand out against a softly blurred background. Additionally, the camera setup includes a dual-LED flash, which helps in capturing well-lit photos even in low-light conditions.
The 8-megapixel front-facing camera is equipped with an LED flash as well, making it easier to take selfies in various lighting environments. The front camera also supports wide-angle shots, which is perfect for group selfies or capturing more of the background in your photos.
Performance and Battery Life
The Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 processor powering the Moto G5S Plus is known for its balance between performance and power efficiency. This octa-core processor, clocked at up to 2.0 GHz, ensures that the device can handle everyday tasks smoothly, from browsing the web to running multiple apps simultaneously. The Adreno 506 GPU complements the processor, providing good graphics performance for gaming and video playback.
The 3000 mAh battery in the Moto G5S Plus is designed to last through a full day of typical use. Motorola has also included TurboPower charging technology, which allows you to get up to 6 hours of battery life with just a 15-minute charge. This is particularly useful for users who are always on the go and need a quick battery boost.
Software and User Experience
Running on Android 7.1 Nougat, the Moto G5S Plus offers a near-stock Android experience, which is appreciated by many users for its simplicity and lack of bloatware. Motorola has added some useful features, such as Moto Actions, which allows you to perform tasks with simple gestures. For example, you can twist your wrist twice to open the camera or chop down twice to turn on the flashlight.
The device also supports Google Assistant, providing users with a smart AI assistant that can help with various tasks, from setting reminders to answering questions. The clean and intuitive user interface ensures that users can navigate the device with ease.
Build Quality and Design
The Moto G5S Plus features an all-metal unibody design, giving it a premium look and feel. The device is available in several color options, including Lunar Gray and Blush Gold, allowing users to choose a style that suits their preferences. The 5.5-inch display is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3, which adds durability and resistance to scratches.
The fingerprint sensor located on the front of the device not only provides security but also supports gestures for navigation, allowing you to swipe left or right to go back or access recent apps. This adds to the overall convenience and user experience.
The Motorola Moto G5S Plus offers a compelling package with its robust performance, versatile camera setup, and premium design, all at an affordable price point. Whether you’re a photography enthusiast, a power user, or someone looking for a reliable smartphone, the Moto G5S Plus is worth considering.
