Exciting New Content for Call of Duty Fans
Eric Hirshberg, CEO of Activision Publishing, revealed:
“The mammoth launch of Modern Warfare 3 and the breakout success of Call of Duty Elite were just the beginning. Call of Duty Elite provides an ‛always-on’ connection to our fanbase, and the MW3 Content Season is the ultimate way to demonstrate our ongoing commitment to the Call of Duty community and provide tremendous value to Call of Duty Elite premium members. With the Call of Duty: MW3 Content Season for Call of Duty Elite we are delivering on our promise of more new content, more often, and with more variety than ever.”
Call of Duty Elite premium members will be the first to get their hands on the new content, which will continue to be released up until September 2012. This DLC promises to bring a plethora of new maps, missions, and game modes that will keep players engaged and excited. The first DLC pack, titled “Content Collection #1,” includes new multiplayer maps such as Liberation, Piazza, Overwatch, and Black Box, as well as new Special Ops missions like Black Ice and Negotiator.
Enhanced Gameplay and Community Engagement
The new DLC is not just about adding more maps and missions; it’s about enhancing the overall gameplay experience. For instance, the new multiplayer maps are designed to offer diverse environments and strategic opportunities. Liberation is set in a militarized Central Park, offering wide-open spaces perfect for snipers. Piazza, on the other hand, is a labyrinthine Italian seaside village that encourages close-quarters combat.
Moreover, the Special Ops missions add a new layer of cooperative gameplay. In Black Ice, players will infiltrate a diamond mine on snowmobiles, while Negotiator involves rescuing hostages in India. These missions are designed to test players’ teamwork and strategic planning.
The introduction of new game modes also adds variety to the gameplay. For example, the “Face Off” mode, which was introduced later in the DLC season, offers 1v1 and 2v2 matches on smaller maps, providing a more intense and fast-paced experience.
Community Feedback and Future Updates
Activision has been keen on listening to community feedback to make continuous improvements. The company has set up forums and social media channels where players can share their thoughts and suggestions. This feedback loop ensures that the content being released is in line with what the community wants.
Additionally, the DLC packs are designed to keep the game fresh and exciting. With each new release, players can expect not just new maps and missions, but also new weapons, skins, and other in-game items. This ongoing support helps maintain a vibrant and active player base.
