Designer Mark Solomon has created a new style of accessory for the iPhone in the form of a cute Moboto, which has been created to provide your iOS device with a little personality of its own.
The Moboto comes with a number of fittings that allow you to customize your dock, as well as a number of iOS personas that allow you to choose the look and character of your Moboto. Watch the video after the jump to see it in action.
What is Moboto?
“Moboto is a new and unique physical and digital experience for mobile devices. When your device docks with Moboto, Moboto comes to life and shows its personality through a combination of apps, phone sensors, and interactive features. We call them APPersonas.
Moboto is modular by design. This allows for a variety of interlocking bases, attachments such as arms, and other accessories to be easily interchanged, providing customization and personalization.”
Once docked on the Moboto, your iOS device will launch the Moboto application and bring to life your character. The Moboto app integrates seamlessly with your iPhone, utilizing its sensors to create a dynamic and interactive experience. For instance, if you choose a weather persona, Moboto can display weather updates in a fun and engaging way, using animations and sounds that reflect the current weather conditions.
Customization and Personalization
The customization options for Moboto are extensive. You can mix and match different bases and attachments to create a unique look that suits your style. The interlocking bases come in various colors and designs, allowing you to change the appearance of your Moboto whenever you like. Additionally, the arms and other accessories can be swapped out to give your Moboto different functionalities. For example, you can add arms that hold your Apple Watch or other small items, making it not just a decorative piece but also a practical accessory.
Moreover, the digital personas, or APPersonas, offer a wide range of characters to choose from. Whether you prefer a cute animal, a quirky robot, or a sophisticated butler, there’s an APPersona that will match your taste. These personas are not just static images; they are interactive and can respond to various inputs from your phone. For example, a butler persona might remind you of your appointments, while a robot persona could entertain you with jokes and trivia.
