MintBox 3 fanless mini PC running Linux Mint

The first details have been released this week for the new MintBox 3 fanless mini PC but will be equipped with an Intel Core i9-9900K processor supported by NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1660 Ti graphics, 32GB of RAM and fitted with a 1TB solid state drive (SSD).

It is thought that the MintBox 3 the configuration above will be priced at around $2,698 while the base model equipped with a slightly less powerful Intel Core i5 hexa-core processor supported by16GB of RAM, and fitted with a 256GB SSD will be priced at $1,543.

Connections on the small compact computer include 2 x DisplayPort 1.2, 1 x HDMI 1.4, 2 x Gigabit Ethernet ports and 6 x USB 3.1 Gen 1 Type-A ports. Brad Linder over at Liliputing also explains that “swappable FACE modules that give you different functions for the front of the computer. The MintBox 3 will ship with an FM-AT3 FACE module that includes a USB 3.1 Gen 2 Type-C port, a USB 3.1 Gen 2 Type-A port, a USB 3.1 Gen 1 Type-A port, a microSD card reader, mini PCIe slot, and audio jack.”

if your budget won’t quite stretch to the heady heights of the MintBox 3, do remember that the slightly more affordable MintBox 2 Pro and MintBox Mini 2 starting at $349 and $299 respectively are still available.
