We have heard recently that both Apple and Google are working on their own mobile payment systems, which use Near Field Communication (NFC) technology and now it seems that Microsoft may also be working on a new mobile payment system.
According to a recent report by Bloomberg, Microsoft intends to offer a new mobile payment system in its Windows Phone 7 software, which means we could see a range of new devices launching with NFC capabilities.
The new mobile payment system by Microsoft would be integrated into their new Windows Phone 7 software, and we presume Microsoft would have some sort of involvement in the actual payment system and how it is run.
This would enable smartphone manufacturers, to release new NFC enabled Windows Phone 7 devices, that can make use of this new payment system, without having to invest heavily in developing their own mobile payment system.
