Microsoft has released its results for its fiscal Q3 2015 quarter and the company announced that it sold 8.6 million Microsoft Lumia smartphones.
The 8.6 million Microsoft Lumia sold smartphones has is up by 18% for the same quarter last year, but down 18% on the previous financial quarter.
Microsoft Lumia sales generated a total of $1.4 billion in revenue for Microsoft, this is down some 16% on the same quarter in 2014.
Microsoft also revealed that they sold a total of 24.7 million feature phones in their fiscal quarter three of 2015, this is also down on the same quarter in 2015.
The company is expected to release a number of new Lumia smartphones this year and they will also release their new OS, Windows 10, which will be available in smartphones, tablets and computers, it will be interesting to see if this will help them increase handset sales.
