Microsoft has announced that their Microsoft Edge Browser is now available on the iPad and Android tablets. Microsoft recently released a beta version of the browser for the iPad and now the full version has been released.
The app comes with the same features as the desktop version of the Edge Browser, this includes features like Favorites, Reading List, New Tab Page, Reading View, and Roaming Passwords and more.
Key Features of Microsoft Edge on Tablets
“Now, you too, can experience familiar features like your Favorites (including Roaming Favorites), Reading List, New Tab Page, Reading View, and Roaming Passwords in Microsoft Edge across all of your devices. And, what makes Microsoft Edge really stand out is the ability to continue on your PC, allowing you to open a web page from your phone right on to your PC. We look forward to bringing new features and updates to Microsoft Edge for iOS and Android in future updates, so please keep providing feedback!”
One of the standout features of Microsoft Edge is the seamless integration it offers across different devices. For instance, the Roaming Passwords feature ensures that your saved passwords are accessible whether you’re on your desktop, tablet, or smartphone. This makes it incredibly convenient for users who switch between devices frequently.
Another notable feature is the Reading View, which strips away unnecessary elements from web pages, providing a clean and focused reading experience. This is particularly useful for reading long articles or blog posts without distractions. The New Tab Page is customizable, allowing users to set it up according to their preferences, whether they want quick access to their favorite websites or a personalized news feed.
Enhanced Productivity and User Experience
The ability to continue on your PC is another game-changer. Imagine you’re browsing a website on your tablet and need to switch to your desktop for a more detailed view or to use desktop-specific applications. With Microsoft Edge, you can easily transfer the web page from your tablet to your PC with just a few taps. This feature significantly enhances productivity, especially for professionals who rely on multiple devices for their work.
Moreover, Microsoft Edge supports a variety of extensions that can be added to enhance functionality. Whether you need an ad blocker, a password manager, or tools for web development, the browser’s extension library has you covered. This makes Microsoft Edge not just a browser, but a versatile tool that can be tailored to meet individual needs.
The new Microsoft Edge Browser is now available as a free download from the Apple App Store and the Google Play Store. You can find out more details about the app over at Microsoft at the link below.
