Towards the end of last week SOE rolled out a new major update to its Planetside 2 servers that caused them to be down for around 6 hours, originally expected to be three hours. But brought with it a major update to one of the three continents within the game, seeing Amerish have a huge makeover.
The Amerish continent has now been totally redesigned with the introduction of the lattice system, six new outposts, updated facilities, and more. Watch the video after the jump to learn more about the Amerish alterations and see them in action.
The Lattice System has now also been implemented on the continent and provides a more structured way for areas to be conquered. The Planetside 2 Lattice System has been disliked by some players for its restrictive nature removing the needs for special tactics and creating a more zerg like environment and battles.
SOE has made a number of alterations over the past month, including performance tweaks and bug fixes to the Planetside 2 game, in preparation for it to launch on the new next-generation Sony PlayStation 4 games console which launched back in November of last year, as well as sort issues and bugs within the PC version of the PS2 game.
