You will be able to access the Mac App store direct from the dock, and it will work exactly like the App store on the iPhone and iPad. Applications can be easily installed on your Mac.
New Features in Mac OS X Lion
One of the most exciting new features in Mac OS X Lion is Launchpad. Launchpad is a new way to launch your applications instantly, and it is a full-screen interface similar to the iPad. You will be able to organize applications and create folders just like on iOS. This feature aims to make the user experience more intuitive and streamlined, especially for those who are already familiar with the iOS ecosystem.
Another significant addition is Mission Control, which combines Exposé, Dashboard, and Spaces into a unified interface.
