Livecode users that are hoping for the addition of LiveCode HTML5 support will be pleased to know that the current crowd funding campaign is nearing $80,000 in pledges from 186 backers with 16 days still to go.
However it will need to up its pledges if it hopes to reach the $395,000 pledged goal it requires to implement its HTML5 Web Delivery to LiveCode. Watch the video after the jump to learn more about the crowd funding campaign and its goals.
LiveCode is a programming language which was formerly the “Revolution” programming language, that has been created to be both an open-source and proprietary cross-platform, rapid application development language inspired by HyperCard’s programming language HyperTalk. Livecode explains :
“Web delivery will provide the ability to output your LiveCode applications into modern web browsers. It will allow a fully faithful representation of your application within the browser environment. It uses HTML5 so it does not require a browser plugin. You will be able to author true Web Apps with LiveCode.
This is the final missing piece to ensure that you really can write your app in LiveCode and deliver it anywhere you or your customer wants it. HTML5 is a large and growing area of the app market and you will be able to leverage it alongside all the existing platforms LiveCode already supports.”
