Google has released a new version of their email app for Apple’s iOS, the latest version brings a number of new features to Gmail on the iPhone and iPad, the main one being that the app now supports Apple’s notification center.
You will now be able to see your Gmail emails in the notification center on your devices lock screen, with support for banners and alerts, you can see everything that is new in the latest version of Gmail for iOS below.
– Notification Center support. Banners, alerts and lock screen notification options.
– “Send-as”. Alternate sender support, if configured within Gmail.
– Persistent login. Sessions no longer expire.
You can download the latest version of Gmail for iOS over at iTunes, it will work with the iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch running iOS 4 and above.
